As with everything, getting to that point had been a cumulation of many events. My path to design work was not a straight one. Beginning with a Masters in Jewish Studies, I thought I’d teach. But upon graduation I was offered an opportunity to work in publishing - marketing books on world religion. I wrote flap and panel copy, ads, press releases and planned author tours. It was a lot fun. From there I went on to the Osher Marin Jewish Community Center where I took over marketing the performing arts program. Our budget was small and I couldn’t hire anyone to design ads or flyers so I learned to do it myself. It soon became my favorite part of the job. After a couple of years at the JCC I spent a short time at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts where I had the opportunity to continue design and marketing. I met some of the most influential people in my career there and, upon leaving, decided to start my own company doing what I liked best - Graphic Design. And here it is - 11 years later. I still love it. I also love the path that marketing has traveled and embrace new media as a link to products and services that we’ve never known before. I love working with organizations that do good in the world.Read the KCC blog for updates on this “story.” I’m having fun participating in its plot. Thanks for coming by. |
